Uk Patel

Welcome to my site.  I’m Uk Patel, a vocalist.  I have earned a diploma in Vocal and Tabla from Ramamanu Kalakendra, Vidhyanagar, Gujarat in 2003.  During my study, I have managed to reach state level competition in 2003 youth festival. I was trained under Dr. Trusit Vaishnav in vocals and Shashikant Sant for tabla.  I continued my education at Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Maha Vidhyalaya and earned Sangeet Visharad (B. Music) in 2004.  Simultaneously, I have been teaching music at Sharda Mandir School, Nadiad from 2000 to 2004. (Mean time I also worked with couple of different band and local groups in V.V. Nagar Anand and Nadiad)

I moved to Canada in 2004 and have performed in many Indo-Canadian events.  I have won radio CMR 101.3 FM competition.  As a reward, they gave me opportunity to record my Vocals in their musical album.  I was teaching music at BAPS Mandir, Toronto simultaneously. 

( here I got platform to perform at Toronto’s “Hum Lalit Kala munch”, than I Have also performed individually in Greater toronto area, North America etc. and my actual journey started )

I moved to United States in 2010 and likewise I have been performing in Indian events.  In addition, I have hosted many live shows like Indian classical, semi-classical, bhajans, festival shows, Garba, Voluntary works for Indian community residence in USA and all kind of Indian musical events.  Moreover, I have visited to UK and Zambia doing live performances and shows.  I continued my teaching passion and have been teaching at BAPS Mandir, Edidin, NJ and under the banner of Premanand Music House.

Overall, I feel fortunate to be part of the "Kala Kendra" music institution, and feel blessed with the teachings of Dr. Trushit Vaishnav.
